Shah Rukh Khan’s big plans for Ra.One
Come September, and you can sample a sneak peek of Shah Rukh Khan’s most anticipated movie this season, RA.One, within your living room. What’s more, you can even be a character from the flick with a new video game based on the sci-fi superhero film, the story of which has been penned by the actor-producer himself.
With six characters, including Khan’s G.One and Arjun Rampal’s RA.One, the new PlayStation game will boast of more than 20 game play environments, offering a number of challenges and multi-player action levels.
Shah Rukh Khan“Shah Rukh’s involvement with the project has been huge. He’s spent a lot of time giving invaluable inputs at the story-creation stage. The entire storyline is a direct input from him. It has to be integrated seamlessly with the story of the film, so we worked very closely on the pre-production of the game,” says Atindriya Bose, country manager – India, Sony PlayStation.
The main cast of the film has been roped in to do the action as well as voiceovers for their respective characters in the game. Bose places the game in the ‘platformer action’ genre, saying, “It’s unlike Internet games, offering elaborate actions, activities and good quality console gaming. There are different platforms, which offer challenges to the characters to pass through, including several close-fighting situations.”
The game’s launch has been timed strategically to create a buzz about RA.One, a month before its release. It will be available for PS2 and PS3 via PSN download. After a launch in India, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, the makers will talk to other regional headquarters to delve into those markets.
